The result is a functional design that controls noise while preserving your space’s aesthetic appeal.
- Advanced noise control – Our panels absorb mid- and high-frequency sound waves, reducing echo and enhancing speech clarity.
- Customisable finishes – Choose from fabric-wrapped, painted, or textured surfaces to complement any interior design.
- Durable construction – Designed to last in residential and commercial spaces, requiring minimal maintenance.
- Eco-conscious production – Made from recycled and sustainable materials to minimise environmental impact.

Unlike standard wall coverings, acoustic wall panels are designed to interact with sound waves — breaking up echoes and absorbing reverberation. This results in clearer conversations and presentations, while making music, film audio, and recorded content sound more natural and immersive.
With NECS acoustic panels, you invest in both performance and aesthetics — each product is thoughtfully crafted to integrate seamlessly with your space.
The benefits of installing acoustic wall panels
Decorative acoustic wall panels deliver benefits beyond standard noise reduction. In busy or open-plan areas, uncontrolled noise can cause distractions, lower productivity, and increase stress. Effective soundproof panels help you tailor acoustics to your environment’s unique needs.
- Improved listening experience – In home theatres and music rooms, clear sound is essential. Acoustic panels eliminate unwanted reflections, allowing audio systems to perform at their best.
- Better communication – In boardrooms or classrooms, acoustic treatment ensures voices are heard clearly, free from distortion.
- Enhanced privacy – In clinics, offices, and shared workspaces, panels contain sound and help keep sensitive conversations private.
- Energy efficiency – Acoustic panels can aid thermal insulation, helping maintain consistent indoor temperatures.
- Stylish interiors – With a wide range of design options, panels add a premium aesthetic touch while serving an essential function.

- Educational facilities – Support effective communication for students and lecturers by reducing classroom noise levels.

How acoustic wall panels work
Acoustic wall panels address the main causes of poor sound quality: reflections, reverberation, and echo. When sound waves hit hard surfaces, they reflect back into the room, creating unwanted noise and making speech less clear. Our panels resolve this by absorbing most of these sound waves, significantly reducing noise pollution.
Our panels are made from porous, fibrous, or foam-based materials encased in decorative coverings. These materials convert sound energy into heat, significantly reducing noise and improving clarity. NECS panels are tested to meet high-performance standards, delivering reliable results from day one.

Choose your acoustic panel finish
All five finishes use the same slatted construction and the same 2.4m x 600mm sheet, at £54 inc VAT per sheet, so the choice is about the look of the room rather than the sound performance. Oak and maple lighten a space; walnut and ebony anchor it; light grey suits a neutral scheme.
- Oak acoustic wall panels. The warmest of the wood finishes and the one most often used behind a television or bed.
- Walnut acoustic wall panels. A deeper brown that works against pale walls and light flooring.
- Maple acoustic wall panels. A light wood finish, good in rooms that do not get much natural light.
- Ebony acoustic wall panels. Near black, usually chosen for media walls and home offices.
- Light grey acoustic wall panels. The neutral, and the easiest to match to existing decor.
All five can be ordered online or through the Blaydon-on-Tyne trade counter, and delivery is free to local postcodes on orders over £150.
Your Questions Answered for our Acoustic Wall Panels
Find answers to the most common inquiries about our products and services to help you make informed decisions.
1. What are acoustic wall panels?
Acoustic wall panels are slatted wood-effect panels mounted on a backing felt that absorb sound and reduce echo in a room. They work by breaking up sound reflections rather than blocking noise from outside, so they make speech clearer, music warmer and open rooms less harsh. They are also used purely as a decorative feature wall.
2. What finishes do your acoustic wall panels come in?
We stock five finishes: oak, walnut, maple, ebony and light grey, all at £54.00 per panel. Oak and walnut are the most popular for living rooms and home offices, while ebony and light grey suit more contemporary and commercial interiors.
3. Do acoustic panels actually soundproof a room?
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding. Acoustic panels absorb sound inside a room to cut echo and reverberation. They do not stop noise travelling between rooms or in from outside, which needs structural soundproofing. If your aim is to stop hearing the neighbours, panels alone will not do it. If your aim is a room that sounds clearer and less echoey, they will.
4. Where are acoustic wall panels used?
Common uses are home offices and video call rooms, home cinemas, music and recording rooms, open-plan living spaces, restaurants and bars, meeting rooms, classrooms and gyms. Anywhere with hard floors, large windows and few soft furnishings tends to benefit most, because those are the rooms where sound reflects hardest.
5. How do you fit acoustic wall panels?
Panels are usually fixed with a suitable adhesive, screws through the slats, or brackets, depending on your wall type. They can be cut to height with a standard saw. Whether the work is being done by your installer or as a DIY project, tell us your wall construction when you order and we will advise which fixing method to use.
6. Can acoustic panels be used in bathrooms or kitchens?
They are best kept to dry rooms. For bathrooms, wet rooms and shower enclosures, PVC wall panels or SPC wall panels are the correct choice because they are fully waterproof. Acoustic panels suit living rooms, bedrooms, offices and hallways.
7. How do you clean acoustic wall panels?
Dust along the slats with a soft brush attachment or a dry cloth, and vacuum the felt backing occasionally on a low setting. Avoid soaking them. Routine dusting is all they normally need.
8. Can I see the acoustic panels before I buy?
Yes. Call in at our trade counter at 2 Blaydon Trade Park, Toll Bridge Road, Blaydon-on-Tyne, NE21 5TR, open Monday to Friday, 7am to 4pm, and see the finishes in person. Order online for UK-wide delivery, with free local delivery on orders over £150.
