Where Are Hygienic Wall Sheets Used?
Hygienic wall sheets are an essential specification in environments where cleanliness and easy cleaning are non-negotiable. Our sheets are installed in:
Commercial Kitchens: the smooth, non-porous surface resists grease, moisture, and bacteria. Fully compliant with food hygiene regulations, these panels are a cost-effective alternative to tiling.
Bakeries and Food Preparation Areas: where regular deep cleaning is required, hygienic sheets withstand industrial cleaning products and high-pressure washing without deteriorating.
Supermarkets and Retail Food Areas: durable enough to withstand daily contact and cleaning, with a finish that remains hygienic and presentable long-term.
Healthcare and Clinical Settings: the non-porous surface prevents bacteria harbouring, making these sheets suitable for medical rooms, dental practices, and care home kitchens.
Bathrooms and Wet Rooms: a practical alternative to ceramic tiles, with no grout lines to harbour mould and mildew.
Specification: 1200mm x 2400mm x 2.5mm rigid panels. Available in white. Matching trims available for edges, internal corners, external corners, and inline joints.

Installation Guide
Hygienic sheets can be installed directly onto plasterboard, existing tiles, or timber battens. The surface must be clean, dry, and flat. Panels are fixed using a compatible adhesive and sealed at joints and edges with matching trim profiles and silicone sealant.
Full installation instructions are available on request. Our trade counter team in Blaydon-on-Tyne can advise on the right adhesive and trim specification for your project.
Your Questions Answered for our Hygienic sheets
Find answers to the most common inquiries about our products and services to help you make informed decisions.
1. What are hygienic wall sheets?
Hygienic wall sheets are flat, rigid, large-format PVC panels with a smooth, non-porous surface that wipes clean. They are specified in commercial environments where surfaces must be washed down regularly, because there are no grout lines or textured joints for dirt and bacteria to collect in. Our sheets are 1200mm x 2400mm x 2.5mm.
2. Where are hygienic sheets used?
Commercial kitchens, restaurants, pubs, takeaways, bakeries, butchers, abattoirs, dairies, supermarkets, food preparation and storage areas, commercial washrooms, changing rooms and healthcare settings. Anywhere a surface needs to be wiped or washed down as part of a cleaning routine.
3. What is the difference between hygienic sheets and PVC wall panels?
Hygienic sheets are flat, unpatterned sheets designed purely for cleanability in commercial settings, and are fitted with sealed trims to keep joints watertight. PVC wall panels are decorative interlocking panels in a wide range of colours and patterns, intended for domestic bathrooms, kitchens and ceilings. If the space is subject to hygiene inspection, hygienic sheets are the correct specification.
4. What trims do I need for hygienic sheets?
A typical installation uses an edge trim to finish exposed edges, an H in-line joint trim where two sheets meet, and internal or external corner trims at wall junctions. We stock all four in 2.4m lengths to match the sheets. Sealing every joint is what keeps the surface hygienic, so the trims are not optional.
5. Are hygienic sheets suitable for use behind cookers and food preparation areas?
They are widely used throughout commercial kitchens including preparation and wash-up areas. For the zone directly behind a hob, fryer or other heat source, check the sheet's temperature rating against your layout, as stainless steel is often specified for that section instead. Speak to us about your kitchen layout and we will advise what to use where.
6. How do you fit hygienic sheets?
Sheets are bonded to a sound, dry, flat substrate using a suitable adhesive, with trims fitted at joints, edges and corners and sealed. They cut to size on site. Whether the work is being done by your fit-out contractor or in-house, we can advise on adhesive and quantities before you order.
7. How do you clean hygienic wall cladding?
Wash down with warm water and a standard commercial detergent, then wipe dry. The non-porous surface means there is no grout to scrub or reseal, which is why these panels are quicker to maintain than tiling in a busy kitchen.
8. Can I buy hygienic sheets in small quantities or trade volume?
Both.
